hi this is for my biology, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

sea otters have a very thick, fine fur, why does this help to keep them buoyant??

vultures that like in the dersert excrete urine onto their legs - why does this method and how, lower the birds body temperature?

thankyou

Traps a layer of air inside the fur.

Urine evaporates, therefore reduces body temperature, as blood pumps through the cool leg.

Urine contains water. Water has a high latent heat of vaporisation i.e. it takes a lot of thermal energy to evaporate 1kg of water. Therefore the heat energy from the vulture is used to evaporate the water in the urine, effectively acting as a coolant.
